Exclusive extract from the Urban Challenge Manifesto for Change

4 September 2017

“The word crisis suggests a point in time, a culmination of issues that require an urgent solution. We have been talking about London’s housing crisis for so long now that perhaps endemic and ongoing failure better describes the situation we find ourselves in. In spite of the efforts of many well meaning people and organisations we have failed to deal with key issues of affordability, of supply, of equity and diversity. The NLA is pleased to have worked with WAN to draw on their international network, to learn from other cities and to bring together a wide range of experts to discuss the fundamental issues that face housing today. The results of these deliberations are set out here - a set of clear recommendations that can make a real contribution to the housing debate as the Mayor prepares his revised version of the London Plan which will guide the future shape of the city.”

Peter Murray, Chairman, NLA
